The cradle, once fitted into place around the stone base of the Block House, was raised into position immediately beneath the log portion of the building using cranes. Photograph: LACAC

As the top portion of the Block House was lowered to the waiting float, the float tipped precariously due to the weight of the building and the unstable soil conditions. Photograph: LACAC

The substantial lean on the float and the building atop it caused grave concern for the safety of the building. Photograph: LACAC

On the day of the move, every precaution was taken to ensure that the top portion of the Block House was securely placed on a float substantial enough to withstand the weight of the building. Photograph: LACAC
